Ryan’s Noah Torrez – Football Spotlight – Presented by First Summit Bank

By Olivia Jones

At Ryan High School, upcoming junior Noah Torrez is making a name for himself as a standout multi-sport athlete. Competing in football, basketball, baseball, and track, Noah plays a key role on the field as a quarterback and safety.

“What motivates me is the drive for self-development and my love for the game,” he said. That mindset has guided him since his freshman year, when he scored in the state championship game, one of the biggest highlights of his career so far.

Noah’s biggest influence is his older brother, who inspired him with his passion for sports. “I always looked up to him. Watching how hard he worked motivated me to become the best I can be.”

He also credits Coach Z, his math teacher, for helping him stay focused. “Coach Z is just a great guy to be around. He lifts me during struggles and stays positive no matter what.”

To Noah, success in sports comes down to being self-driven and constantly pushing for improvement. He enjoys working against Breydon in practice because “he works hard, wants to win, and always pushes himself.” And he’s quick to recognize the contributions of teammate Dalyin, his center. “Nobody talks about how hard he works, but he always shows up and plays great.”

Off the field, Noah is involved in FFA, Beta Club, and FCA. His favorite social media personalities are the Tren Twins. “They’re funny and they lift heavy—it’s entertaining and motivating.”

Balancing sports and school, he says, just takes discipline. “Get your work done in class, and finish anything else at home.”

Representing Ryan means a lot to Noah. “This community is amazing. They always show up and they’re always loud. It means everything to be out there for them.”

Before games, Noah always prays and leads his team out of the tunnel. His favorite NFL player is Patrick Mahomes, and his dream college is Texas. If not for football, he says, “I’d be playing baseball.”

If you’re looking for a star quarterback or a reliable safety, keep an eye out for Noah Torrez.
