RUSH SPRINGS
GIRLS
COACH: Jennifer Burch
2023 Record: 6-16
The Rush Springs Lady Redskins are entering the 2024-25 season with optimism and a focus on building around senior Kimberly Fox. A four-year starter and the team leader in every statistical category, Fox’s leadership will be instrumental in helping younger players step into more prominent roles. Head coach Jennifer Burch is counting on Fox’s experience and skill to guide the team as they adopt a faster-paced style of play this year.
“We will be looking to speed things up this year and force tempo with our defense!” said Burch. “Kimberly’s strong leadership will be key as we develop and grow throughout the season.”
Kimberly Fox (5-9, Sr.) returns as the heart and soul of the Lady Redskins. In addition to her basketball prowess, she is a standout athlete in softball and track, making her one of the most versatile players on the roster. Fox’s ability to lead both on and off the court sets a high standard for the rest of the team.
Joining Fox is Carly Melton (5-6, Jr.), who brings a unique story and undeniable resilience to the team. Melton, who is deaf and wears cochlear implants, has shown remarkable determination, overcoming challenges to compete in noisy gym environments. A starter last year, she is expected to see significant minutes this season and contribute to the team’s success.
The Lady Redskins are eager to improve on last year’s record and hope their defensive intensity and team chemistry will lead to a successful campaign. With a solid core of returning players and an emphasis on creating tempo, Coach Burch is confident her squad will make strides this season.
