Chris Crow is a senior at Rush Springs High School. He participates in football, basketball, and baseball, and is currently taking classes at his local votech. Chris got his start with sports when he was around 7-8 years old. He loved playing the sports and then seeing others play them on tv. His favorite part about sports is the confidence that it gives him on and off the field or court. The highest moment in his sports career so far has been winning Catcher of the Year twice.
Chris’s biggest positive impact is Justice Cooper, his friend. “He pushed me and brought competition for me to get better at everything that I do, and he brought me up when I was down; filling me with confidence,” he says. His role model is Jared McCain. Chris says “he shows that no matter what people say or how people feel, to always just do you and play your best, no matter what.”
Chris’s favorite subject in school is math, because to him, it’s easy and he enjoys helping others get better at math. After high school, Chris plans to play sports in college while studying in the Criminal Justice field. For fun, Chris likes to work out, throw or hit a ball around, and shoot hoops at the gym.
When things get tough for Chris, his mom and his faith keep him motivated to always be the best person and player that he can be. “My mom also shows me to try my hardest even when everything is against me. She is my biggest supporter, no matter what,” he says.
Chris says that to be a great athlete, you have to have dedication and a love for the game. The advice that he has for his fellow athletes is to have fun with the sport that you play, but never be satisfied with where you’re at. “Keep striving for more,” he says.
