VYPE: How long have you competed in cross country?
Miller: Six years.
VYPE: What first got you interested in the sport?
Miller: My mom used to run marathons and she encouraged me to pick it up. I also really
did not want to play a contact sport, and cross country seemed like the most fun.
VYPE: In your opinion, what is the best part about playing sports in high school?
Miller: All of the memories that get made and all of the amazing people you get to meet. I
have met so many lifelong best friends through cross country.
VYPE: What is your favorite memory competing?
Miller: When me and my best friend Charlee sang songs for the entire state course last year.
VYPE: Do you have a favorite opponent to compete against? If so, why?
Miller: I do not care who we compete against, because in the sport you are not competing
against other people, rather you are competing against your own mind.
VYPE: What motivates you to be your best?
Miller: I am motivated to be my best because I really want succeed at my sport, especially
with a high placing at state.
VYPE: Which teammate is the class clown? Who is the leader?
Miller: The class clown is for sure Charlee LaFee, she can make anyone laugh no matter the
day. Our leader is probably Sydney Miller because the whole team looks up to her.
VYPE: Is there anyone you look up to as a role model, and why?
Miller: I look up to Coach Buben, because he randomly drops insane amounts of wisdom.
VYPE: What are your plans after high school?
Miller: I plan to attend the University of Notre Dame and dual major in Business
Administration and Hospitality Management, with a minor in Spanish. From there I aspire
to attend Medical School and a Surgery Residency.
