Marlow’s Maci Miller – FFA Spotlight – Presented by Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma

Currently serving as Vice President of the Marlow High School FFA chapter, Maci Miller is a senior and a member of the varsity cheer squad.

Miller said she joined FFA during her freshman year and she has loved every minute.

“I got into agricultural education at Marlow because I had been showing hogs since the fifth grade, but Mr. Kennan really encouraged me to get involved with all of the FFA activities and make the most of every opportunity. I give speeches, show pigs, and compete in agronomy,” said Miller.

One reason Miller said she has enjoyed her time in FFA are the people she meets from other programs.

“I really enjoy and appreciate all of the friendships that have come from being in FFA. I have met people from all over the country and state who have become some of my very best friends,” said Miller.

As a member of the cheer team, Miller said being part of the games is what she enjoys most.

She started cheering as a sophomore.

“This is my third season on the team. My favorite thing about being a cheerleader is getting to cheer on all of our Outlaw sports teams during their seasons with my teammates,” said Miller.

The senior is the co-captain of the cheer team, a member of National Honor Society, Gifted and Talented program and she is the senior class reporter. When her time at MHS comes to an end, Miller plans to attend Oklahoma Christian University to either get a degree in Nursing or Education.

Miller offers this advice to anyone interested in FFA.

“I would tell a student who is interested in FFA to just jump right in and try everything. All of the activities I do now I would have never imagined enjoying, but I tried all of them anyways and found my passion.”
