Marlow Outlaws – Football Team Preview – Presented by Newberry Express Pharmacy

MARLOW OUTLAWS

Coach: MATT WEBER

10-3

OFFENSE

Coach Matt Weber knows the challenge well: “We will be replacing a large senior class, which it seems we are always doing. The seniors-to-be have a lot of skilled kids, and our juniors are one of the more talented classes we’ve had come through. Because of such great participation in all classes, we usually have a lot of depth for a 2A school.” The Marlow Outlaws’ offense is led by senior RB Hudson Morgan (6-3, 210), a powerful presence in the backfield who will carry much of the rushing load. Senior WR Boomer Brooks (6-1, 195) is a reliable target with size and skill, complemented by junior QB Brendan Weber (6-0, 183), who will direct the offense with poise and accuracy. The Outlaws also boast a strong supporting cast: junior RB Clint Ladon (5-10, 177) adds explosiveness in the backfield, while juniors Clete Gilbert (6-3, 244), Jake Pettit (6-1, 228), and TE Jackson Miller (6-3, 218) anchor the offensive line and provide key blocking. Senior OL Aiden Justus (6-1, 220) and senior FB Justin Zhang (5-9, 173) round out a group that gives the Outlaws versatility and power. Slot receiver Jaxson Murray (5-8, 166, Jr.) adds speed and agility to keep defenses on their toes. Depth and experience on offense give Marlow confidence that they can sustain their success and keep pushing deep into the playoffs.

DEFENSE

The Outlaws’ defense features many of the same key contributors on both sides of the ball. Senior LB Hudson Morgan will lead the front seven, providing strength and tackling ability. Defensively, senior WR Boomer Brooks shifts to DB, bringing athleticism and coverage skills. In the secondary, senior cornerbacks Wyatt Osborn (6-1, 174) and Major Fleetwood (5-10) will defend against big plays, with junior Clint Ladon and senior Jaxson Murray filling safety roles. On the defensive line, juniors Gilbert and Pettit, along with seniors Miller and Justus at DE, will apply pressure and stop the run. Senior FB Justin Zhang adds depth as a strong safety. The Outlaws’ defense is built on versatility and experience, mirroring the offense’s depth, making Marlow a balanced and dangerous team ready to compete at the highest level in 2A.
