Cale Porter – Empire High School Football, Basketball, and Baseball

Cale Porter is a multisport athlete at Empire High School. Currently a junior, Cale plays football, basketball, and baseball for the Empire High School Bulldogs. In football, Cale plays quarterback, receiver, defensive back, and running back. In basketball, Cale plays the position of a shooting guard, and in baseball, Cale plays third base. Many would consider Cale a sports veteran, having played football, basketball, and baseball since the 5th grade.
In terms of what it means to represent his school and community as a student athlete, Cale stated, “It means a lot to me to be able to represent my school and community because we are a very small, and it is an opportunity to make us known.”
As far as what motivates Cale, he stated, “What motivates me are all of the expectations set for me.”
“ ”Most student athletes have a role model that has inspired them. For Cale, he looks toward family as this source. Cale proclaimed, “My biggest influence is my dad because he is a very hard-working individual.”
In regards to what it has taken to be successful in sports, Cale stated, “To become successful in my sports it has taken a lot of dedication and practice year-round.”
Many memories are made in sports over the course of a student athlete’s career. For Cale, one memory stood out the most. Cale reminisced, “The highlight of my career as a student athlete would be my 101 yard pick 6.”
As far as academics, most students have a teacher that has left a impression on them that helped mold them. Cale explained, “Mrs. Hightower made a big impact on my life because she helps me with things outside of her class.”
After graduating from high school, Cale plans on pursuing higher education, as well as playing sports. Cale stated, “I plan to play football at the next level, while working to get a four-year degree.”
