
VYPE: What grade are you in and what sports do you play?
Jackson: I’m a senior at Duncan High School where I am on the cross country and track and field teams.
VYPE: What accomplishment or memory are you most proud of?
Jackson: The accomplishment I am most proud of is my charity 10k up and down a mountain in Colorado.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that makes you a better person?
Jackson: The biggest thing my sport has taught me about being a better person is to always give back to your whole team and help them reach their goals the best you can.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?
Jackson: My favorite part about representing my high school as an athlete is showing good sportsmanship while also reminding people that the most important thing is to have fun while they do their part.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?
Jackson: The teammate that has left the biggest impression on me is Drew Taliferro because he did several different types of events and always pulled his weight without a single complaint while also teaching me proper form and technique and setting the perfect pace.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?
Jackson: My favorite teacher is my algebra teacher from my junior year because he always tried his best with us and found a special approach to teaching us that made it fun and bearable.
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
Jackson: The best advice anyone has ever given me is to stop worrying about all the expectations and to let my natural desire for the sport guide me to being better.
VYPE: Who inspires you?
Jackson: Someone that inspires me is Muhammad Ali because he spent almost all his time practicing his technique and form and skill until he nearly perfected it.
