Duncan’s Graham Goodson – Football Spotlight – Presented by Southwest Dental Group

At Duncan High School, junior Graham Goodson is not just focused on tackling opponents on the football field; he’s also preparing for a future above the clouds. As a dedicated linebacker, Graham brings determination and discipline to every practice and game, using his time on the field to build not just physical strength but mental toughness as well.

Graham credits much of his motivation to the future he envisions for himself. “Thinking about the future is what keeps me going,” he says. That future involves more than just football. Graham is deeply involved in aviation and is working toward becoming a corporate pilot. He plans to finish earning all his flight ratings after high school and eventually invest in real estate.

His love for aviation extends beyond the classroom. One of his biggest influences is YouTuber FlyWithOwen, who shares his passion for flying. He inspires him because he’s living the dream he’s working towards. His favorite school activity is the aviation club, where he continues to pursue his passion while balancing academics and athletics with discipline.

On the football field, Graham has earned his place as a key defensive player. “Starting last year as a linebacker was the highlight of my career so far,” he shares. Though there isn’t one opponent he loves beating more than others, every game is a chance to grow. In practice, he values team experience, though no single teammate stands out as a favorite to compete against.

Among his mentors, one teacher stands out: Mr. Todd Ledford. “He’s had a big impact on me,” Graham says. Whether it’s in class, practice, or preparing for takeoff, Graham is grateful for the people who’ve helped guide him.

Representing Duncan High and the community is something Graham takes pride in. “It means a lot to me,” he says. With his eyes set on the skies and a strong foundation on the ground, Graham Goodson is ready to soar on the field, in the classroom, and beyond.
