Dasia Givens – Duncan High School Volleyball, Basketball, and Soccer

Duncan High School junior Dasia Givens is a multisport athlete, playing volleyball, basketball, and soccer for the Duncan Demons. In volleyball, Dasia plays middle blocker and hitter, in basketball, Dasia plays guard and small forward, and in soccer, Dasia plays center defender. Many would consider Dasia a sports veteran, having played volleyball for 5 years, basketball for 11 years, and soccer for 12 years.
Dasia is proud to represent her school and community as a student athlete. Dasia explained, “It is a great honor to represent my school and community, one that I take very seriously and carry with pride. I come from a wonderful and supportive community, with loving and dedicated people everywhere I turn. Not only do I have such a great school that provides everything necessary and more for all of its students to be successful in every aspect of their high school career, but they also give us the chance to be prepared to have a wonderful future. Being a part of Duncan Athletics is a privilege and it teaches me things daily that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.”
“ ”Faith plays an integral part of Dasia’s life. Dasia proclaimed, “My relationship with Jesus Christ is definitely my biggest motivation. Having a relationship with God and waking up each morning knowing that I am His child and He is going to love me no matter what the day brings will always be the most motivating and peaceful thing I will ever experience. Growing His kingdom will forever be my end goal; playing sports and all the success that comes from it is a platform to share His love, and thankfully it is the path He has provided. All of the glory will forever be His and I am so grateful that He has plans for me and it is all out of my hands.”
In addition to being a multisport athlete for the Duncan Demons, Dasia is a part of Student Council, a member of Students Against Drunk Driving, a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a member of Key Club. Also, Dasia is a part of the Student Advisory Council, and The Oklahoma Honor Society.
