BRAY-DOYLE DONKEYS
Coach: WADE WHATLEY
0-0
There is a buzz around BrayDoyle that goes beyond a typical football season. After missing varsity football last year, the community is fired up to see the Donkeys back under the lights and taking the field again. “Our community is excited about the opportunity for our school to play football again this year,” says head coach Wade Whatley. “Missing this last year created an appetite for Donkey Football.”
On offense, Bray-Doyle plans to lean on its size up front and a physical ground game out of a split-back, double-tight formation. The Donkeys want three yards and a cloud of dust, relying on linemen to stay hooked up and move the line of scrimmage. Versatile playmaker Bladyn Harris (5-9, 155) will line up at running back, receiver and
quarterback, while Lane Harris (5-10, 160) brings similar flexibility as a quarterback, running back and receiver. Tight ends Ryder Pass (5-8, 190) and Gavin Pelton (6-2, 185), along with linemen Junior Alvarez (5-10, 255) and Hunter Smith (5-7, 195), give Bray-Doyle the size and physical presence it needs to establish the run and hit play-action shots downfield.
Defensively, the Donkeys will line up in a 4-1-3 base, using their size to hold the line and keep contain while funneling the football to an aggressive backfield. Whatley believes this group has the athleticism to keep games close if it can consistently tackle and maximize its natural ability. Bladyn Harris and Lane Harris will anchor the secondary, while Pass and Zan Prater (6-0, 235) bring physicality to the defensive front. Shane Barnes (5-10, 145) will contribute at defensive end and linebacker, adding another highmotor defender to the mix.’
