The boys golf team at Velma-Alma High School is coming off of a solid season that saw them finish fifth at state. Bringing back a number of familiar faces this season, head coach Kenny Bare likes the make-up of his team and he says that they have a chance to make some noise this season.”
“We have our top four bags back this year,” Bare said. “We are also adding freshman Jagger Sanner, who has the ability to score with our number one bag. I think we have the chance to have a solid season.

Juniors Wyatt Davison, Slade Strickland, and Conner Akers are three outstanding golfers that have worked hard in the offseason to improve their game and are ready to hit the course. Joining them are sophomores Conner Bruce and J.D. Wilson and Sanner. This group brings a lot to the table and this season they expect to make a statement.
“These kids have the want and the drive to have a chance to be in the top three this season,” Bare stated. “Hopefully, at the end of April, we will be playing our best golf and have a chance in Class 2A.”
