OUTLOOK
The Redskins enter the new season under head coach Ivan Martinez with a roster that features several players with solid experience at multiple positions. Coach Martinez said that group will be relied on for quality minutes this season.
“We have a strong group of seasoned players coming back this year. Seniors Devyn Gill and Colton Whiteside will lead the team having been starters at some point last year and logging in a lot of minutes on the court. Helping them will be the juniors Derrick Boyster, Evan Martinez, Cade Jones, and Leland Reed, who also started or played a bunch of minutes last year too. Some key underclassmen this year include Jacobi Laughlin, Colten Slawson, and Easton Siefried among others who will play key roles in rounding out the team,” coach Martinez said.
Other players to watch include Kadyn Humphrey (So.), Roper Smith (So.) and Trent Hoover (Sr.) at forward.
Boyster was honored with a preseason VYPE Top 100 selection, making him eligible for the Mr. Basketball Oklahoma award at the end of the season.
