The Duncan Demons are coming off of a solid season a year ago that saw them advance to the state tournament. Coming into this new season, head coach Stephen Thomas has high hopes for his squad.

“Last season, we had a deep roster with eight players contending for varsity each week,” he said. “None of those players graduated, so this season has started the same way. We didn’t play very well at the end of
the season and ultimately placed fifth at the state tournament. But that feeling has stuck with every player throughout the offseason, and they have improved their practice habits, and it is showing.”

Grayson Brooksher is back for his senior season. He is a four-year varsity member with three state tournament appearances. He was a member of the 2022 and 2023 state championship teams. He is looking to help lead his team to another title this season.

Another big-time player for Duncan this season is sophomore Jensen Prince. He has a solid work ethic and a lot of talent and should have a great year.

A new face on the team this year is junior Matthew Ramshaw. He moved to Duncan from Montana and is a really good golfer and brings a lot to the team. As the season progresses, Thomas will look for his squad to refine their game and be ready to go when it counts the most.

“We expect to improve each week and peak at the right time,” he said. “If that happens, we might have the opportunity to upset some talented opposing teams. One of our best players is currently out with a broken leg that he suffered while cutting down a tree in January. We all have our fingers crossed that his
recovery goes smoothly and that he gets a chance to play at some point this season.”
