Q&A with Chickasha’s Nahla Alexander – Presented by Community Bank of Oklahoma

VYPE: What grade are you in, and what sports do you play?

Nahla: I am a freshman at Chickasha High School. I play tennis and volleyball.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that makes you a better person?

Nahla: Tennis has taught me the importance of staying true to who I am and putting in the hard work, no matter the challenges.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?

Nahla: My older sister, Kiara, has made the biggest impact on me. She’s always pushing me to get better by helping me train, and no matter how tough things get, she somehow finds a way to turn it into something we can laugh about later.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?

Nahla: My favorite part about representing my school is the chance to leave a legacy and show younger students that anyone can succeed if they take what they’ve learned and put it into action.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?

Nahla: My favorite teacher is my mom, Mrs. Alexander, from seventh and eighth grades, because when I didn’t want to be at school, I could always go to her classroom and get my work completed in a joyful and calm environment.

VYPE: Are you involved in any other activities?

Nahla: I’m a member of the 2025 State Champion 8th-9th Grade OJABA Academic Team, an active participant in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a Kids Leader at Victory Family Church, and a manager for the 2025 5A Team and Dual State Wrestling teams.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?

Nahla: If I were to go on vacation, I would love to go to Bora Bora and take my parents, siblings, and as many close relatives as possible.

VYPE: What is your all-time favorite meal?

Nahla: My favorite dish is Pad Thai.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

Nahla: I want to give a special shoutout to my amazing parents, Abera and Jeremy Alexander, for always supporting me and being there every step of the way.
