Minco’s Riley Beck – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Blackjack Legacy

It takes a lot of hard work in order to be a successful athlete. Along with all that work, it does not hurt to have some good pedigree in your genes. That is something that Riley Beck has in his corner.

“Both of my grandpa’s have made a big impact on my life,” Beck said. “They are both in the Oklahoma Coaches’ Hall of Fames for their respective sport. Also, my youth pastor Cameron has also served as a great role model for me and has helped me to live like Jesus and glorify God in everything I do.”

Beck is a senior at Minco High School, where he is a member of the basketball, baseball, and academic teams. He is also an active member of the youth group at Minco First Baptist Church.

Throughout his career, Riley has made a lot of memories with all of his teams. But he has a couple that stand out as his favorite.

“Scoring 33 points on eight made three pointers on opening night of my senior year was pretty special,” he said. “As well as senior night scoring 29 points with seven three pointers in only three quarters of play.”

Whether he is on the court or the field, wearing the Minco uniform is something that Riley is proud to be able to do.

“It is an honor to represent Minco,” he said. “And even through the difficult times and losses I will always be proud to represent my school. I have been at Minco basically my entire life and I have so many supporters here.”

Though he works hard to be a successful athlete, Beck knows that it is just as important to be a solid student in the classroom.

“I’ve always had an easy time balancing my school with my sports,” Riley said. “I definitely devote the largest portion of my time to basketball and everything else kind of falls into line.”
