Minco’s Caiden Brown – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Blackjack Legacy

Anyone who takes the time to compete in a sport usually does not do it just because. They do it because they want to win and be successful. But to do that, it takes a lot of hard work and dedication, and for Caiden Brown, it might mean missing out on something.

“To be successful, it takes sacrificing time doing other things that I wanted to do or shoes over basketball,” he said. “But it has been worth it.”

Caiden is a senior at Minco High School, playing point guard and shooting guard on the basketball team.

Throughout his career, Brown has made a lot of memories, he says that he is thankful for the opportunity that he has had.

“My highlight moment would be my freshman year on the basketball team,” he said. “Because of all the friends I made. We really clicked as a group, on and off the court.”

Browns has a few people that have helped impact his life and get to where he is today.

“One of my biggest role models is TJ Gatlin,” he said. “He has built a successful business from the ground up. I hope to have a business as successful as that one day. A teacher who has influenced me is Mr. Strutton because he really tries to prepare us for the real world and doesn’t just teach us English.”

Wearing the Minco name across his chest when he is on the basketball court is something that is important to Caiden, and he does not take it lightly.

“Having the support of our community at the games means so much to me,” he said. “Knowing they are there to cheer us on even if they don’t have any kids playing speaks volumes about Minco.”

Being a successful athlete also means being a successful student in the classroom. To do this, Caiden knows what it takes.

“You have to plan your time wisely and have strong communication skill,” he said.
