MINCO BULLDOGS
Coach: BROCK WARDLAW
7-4

OFFENSE
The Minco Bulldogs enter the 2025 season with confidence, returning 9 starters on offense and 8 on defense. Coach Brock Wardlaw emphasized the importance of summer preparation: “We have to get after it this summer to get where we need to get, but we are looking forward to the upcoming season versus a tough district.” The Bulldogs aim to establish a balanced attack with a strong running game complemented by explosive plays through the air. Senior WR Aden Brummell (6-0, 175) leads the receiving corps and serves as a school and team leader, known for his high character and steady presence on and off the field. Senior RB Sebastian Valdez (6-0, 180) will be the primary workhorse in the backfield, expected to carry the load on the ground. Senior QB Dason McMurtrey (5-10, 150) will direct the offense, mixing efficient passing with timely runs. On the line, seniors Case Brassfield (5-9, 230) and sophomore Jaxon Mathews (6-5, 220) provide size and strength upfront. Landon McMahon (5-7, 150), a senior receiver returning from injury, is expected to have a breakout year with his excellent ball skills and status as the team’s top athlete. McMahon’s speed and agility will be critical in stretching defenses and creating big-play opportunities.
DEFENSE
The Bulldogs’ defense is built to be aggressive and physical. Senior Tucker Meiwes (6-4, 300) anchors the defensive front as a three-year starter known for setting the tone with his strength and physicality. Coach Wardlaw expects big things from Meiwes this season. Linebackers Jase Bratcher (5-9, 170, Sr.) and Cashton Johnson (5-9, 170) will provide speed and tackling ability in the middle, while senior DE Taylor Truelove (5-8, 175) brings relentless energy off the edge. Junior Brody Mathews (6-3, 180), a two-way starter since his sophomore year, offers length and potential as he continues to add weight, poised to be a major impact player on both sides of the ball. The secondary features senior DB AJ Russell (5-10, 160), tasked with shutting down opposing receivers and making plays in coverage. With a roster full of experienced players and promising young talent, Minco looks to be a stingy defense that flies around the football and supports the offense’s goals. With strong leadership and depth, the Bulldogs are ready to compete in a tough district and push for postseason success.
