There are moments throughout an athlete’s career that become key memories for them. It could be a personal milestone, a team accomplishment, or something else, but these moments stick with the athlete for a while. Trey Ott is a junior at Dibble High School and he has a memory that stands out as his favorite.
“The highlight of my career was going four for four at the plate and throwing three kids out at Bricktown Ballpark,” he recalled. “Then I came in and finished the game on the mound, striking three kids out in nine pitches.”
Along with playing baseball for Dibble, Ott is also a member of the football team. His baseball coach, Nick Price, says that Trey is an outstanding player and teammate that is an important part of the team.
“Trey has been the starting catcher for two years and also has been one of the leaders of our pitching rotation,” Price said. “His role will continue to increase on the team as he is working to improve.”
He has invested a lot of time and effort in order to become the player that he is today. But he knows that the work he puts in is worth it.
“It has taken a lot of time that I don’t regret giving up,” he said. “Wanting to be great at the sports forces you to give up almost all of your time, but it’s the best when you hit that homerun over the highway and all the hard work shows.”
Throughout his life, Ott has had a number of people that have had an impact on him, both as a person and an athlete. But he has one person that he looks up to the most.
“The biggest role model for me is my uncle Dustin,” he said. “He is always there to pick me up when I’m down or when I just make a mistake.”
On social media, Trey has a favorite page to follow for an obvious reason.
“My favorite person I follow is Aggie baseball, the Texas A&M baseball Instagram. They have always been my dream school so I’m always checking up on their socials.”
