Chickasha’s Audri King Athlete Spotlight Presented by Bank of Commerce

There are many things that are necessary in order for someone to be successful in whatever they do. The same holds true for high school athletes, but along with hard work, Audri King says that she has an outstanding group of people that keep her motivated.

“It has taken hard work and dedication and effort to be successful,” she said. “The people that surround me and encourage me to keep going. One of the things that motivates me the most is when people doubt me for my size and say I’m small or not strong, it motivates me even more to prove them wrong.”

Audri is a sophomore at Chickasha High School. She plays soccer for her school and she also plays club soccer as well. Throughout her career, King has had some moments that have been memorable, but she has one that stands out as her favorite.

“The highlight moment of my high school career is getting to play center back with my sister, Brooke,” she said. “A duo that can’t be stopped and works very well together.”

There are people throughout her life that have had an impact on Audri’s life. But she has a few that have played bigger roles.

“One of my biggest influences is Coach Hampton,” she said. “He has gone through a quadruple bypass and still continues to this day what he loves to do. He is a big influence to me because he never gave up when times were hard. Second is my mom. She has always pushed through my limits. One of our favorite songs is ‘You are my sunshine’. Third is my dad for coaching me from when i was little and pushing me till now. Always telling me this one quote, ‘You will never walk alone’”.

King loves the game of soccer, but she says that wearing her school uniform is something that she is proud to do.

“I’m glad that I have the opportunity to represent the Chickasha high school soccer program,” Audri said. “It means a lot to me that I get to play for a team that loves the community and players.”
