As an athlete, Olivia Wilson has invested a lot of time and effort throughout her career. She puts
in the time so that she can be at her best whenever she competes.
“It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be successful,” she said. “My biggest motivation is
the drive to be better for my teammates.”
Wilson is a sophomore at Chickasha High School, where she plays shooting guard for the
basketball team. Outside of sports, she is also active in all honors classes.
There have been a number of people that have had an influence on Olivia’s life and helped
shape her into the person she is.
“My mom and dad are my biggest role models,” she said. “They showed me what hard work is.
Also, the teacher that has had the biggest impact on my life would be Mrs. Alexander, because
she has always had confidence in me on the court and in the classroom.”
When she is on the court, whether it is a game or practice, Olivia enjoys the camaraderie that
her team has. They are always working together to help each other improve their game. And
they are always ready to compete against whoever is on the other side.
“The teammate I enjoy working against the most would be Sydney Burtschi,” Wilson said. “We
are both competitive and push each other to our best ability. The team I like to beat the most
would have to be Blanchard because they have always been a tough opponent to beat.”
Being able to wear the Chickasha basketball uniform is something that Wilson is proud to be
able to do.
“I always give 110% when I’m on the court because I appreciate all of the support from our
community and school,” she said.
