Athlete Spotlight with Chickasha’s Kiefer Woods – Presented by Joshua Woods, Realtor – Eastwood Realty Group

For Chickasha High School senior Kiefer Woods, baseball has never been just a game — it’s been a steady teacher of patience, discipline, and humility. A dedicated player for the Fightin’ Chicks, Woods has devoted countless hours on the mound and in training, but it’s his mindset that has set him apart during his high school career.

One of his proudest moments came when he delivered a shutout performance in the regional tournament last season, a game he still remembers vividly.

“Throwing a shutout in the regional tournament last year is definitely something I’ll never forget,” Woods said. “Everything just came together that day — my teammates had my back the whole way.”

That success didn’t come overnight. Woods said the game has taught him how to stay patient and trust the process.

“Baseball has definitely taught me patience because the work you put in doesn’t ever show results immediately,” he said.

Off the field, Woods credits a couple of teachers at Chickasha for having a big impact on him both in school and life.

“Mr. Widener and Coach Rodgers have been great teachers,” Woods said. “They’re people I know I can talk to whenever.”

When asked who inspires him most, Woods didn’t hesitate.

“My Uncle Marcus inspires me because of how hard he works, the kind of guy he is, and the great dad and uncle he’s always been.”

On the diamond, one teammate in particular left a lasting impression.

“The teammate who made the biggest impression on me was Jackson Finck,” Woods said. “He taught me always to see the positive in situations.”

Woods, who also happens to be the school’s valedictorian, a National Honor Society member, and a professional NBA 2K26 player, said representing Chickasha means carrying himself with pride and respect.

“My favorite part about representing my high school is beating teams with class and being respectful, no matter who our opponent is.”

When it comes to the people who’ve supported him most, Woods is grateful.

“I want to say thank you and give a shoutout to my mom, dad, my three best friends, and my girlfriend for always supporting and being there for me.”
