Before the school day begins and long after it ends, Emmri Hall can often be found in the barn, feeding, training and caring for the livestock that have helped shape her FFA experience at Anadarko High School.
A junior, Hall joined FFA after growing up around the barns and getting a firsthand look at the work that goes on behind the scenes. That early exposure became an interest of her own, and she has embraced the opportunities that come with the organization. Hall is involved in speeches, livestock judging and showing livestock, areas that have helped her build confidence, responsibility and a strong work ethic.
“Knowing that through FFA, I’ve been given so many opportunities, with so many more yet to come, motivates me,” Hall said. “Being able to set a good example for the generations below me inspires me and reminds me how much of an impact I can make on someone’s life.”
Her success has required more than simply showing up on competition days. Hall’s commitment includes early and late trips to the barn, preparing livestock before shows and making sure the animals are properly trained and cared for each day.
“Being successful in FFA, for me, consists of lots of responsibility and commitment,” Hall said. “Going to the barn before and after school, spending late nights prepping for early show days and taking time out of my day to make sure they are trained and taken care of are all parts of what it takes.”
One of Hall’s proudest accomplishments came during the show season with her Poland barrow, Bubba. After earning Breed Champion honors at every jackpot and county show, Hall finished the season in the big ring at the Oklahoma Youth Expo, where Bubba placed eighth.
Hall credits her family, especially her parents, for their continued support. Her dad has been alongside her throughout her FFA career, helping around the barn, selecting pigs and supporting her at every stage. Both of her parents have also taught her the importance of staying humble, responsible and kind.
She also appreciates the guidance of Anadarko ag teacher Mr. Freeman, who has helped her with FFA activities and life beyond the classroom.
For Hall, representing Anadarko means competing with character. She wants to stand out not only through her work in the show ring, but through kindness, commitment and a willingness to work hard for her school and community.
