Last season was a solid one for the Panthers as they ended their season one win away from advancing to regionals. They are off to a great start this season, going into the Christmas break with a 12-0 record and playing some great basketball. Before the season began, Panthers’ head coach Aaron Garrett thought his squad had the opportunity to have a great season.
“Our team is building off an 18-win season a year ago and we’re excited about the potential this year,” Garrett said. “We have an athletic group with great depth, which will allow us to stay competitive in every game. The team plays with relentless effort and has a strong commitment to doing things the right way, which should position us well for continued success this season.”
The team is led by a core of seniors that are seasoned and ready to lead their team on a deep playoff run. Avery McComas has a high basketball IQ and is always in the right place on the court. Another senior, Kale Jones, works hard and is always ready to help his team be successful. Briar Anglin does a great job of being an impact player on the court. When he is not on the court, he is always cheering on his teammates. Michael Allen looks to have a big season for the Panthers.
The Panthers look to continue to improve and grow as a team throughout the second half of the season and into the playoffs.
