
VYPE: What grade are you in, and what sports do you play?
Mykayla: I am in my senior year at Chickasha High School. I am a part of the varsity softball team.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?
Mykayla: My favorite part about representing my high school is that I get to showcase everything that Chickasha High School is and its values. Our teachers and coaches teach us to have good sportsmanship, and I get to give out what they pour into us.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?
Mykayla: The teammate that left the biggest impression on me was Leighanne Eaton, who was a senior when I was a freshman and now plays at USAO. She was not only an amazing athlete, but more importantly, an amazing teammate and leader to everyone.
VYPE: What accomplishment or memory are you most proud of?
Mykayla: My proudest memory was just recently when I was baptized and rededicated my life and heart to Jesus.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that makes you a better person?
Mykayla: Softball has taught me so much, including how to refuse to stay down when I fail, and what I am capable of if I work hard for it and have confidence.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?
Mykayla: Mr. Widener is my favorite teacher because he prepared me for the real world instead of just the next test, and we always had stories to tell when we got out of class.
VYPE: Who inspires you?
Mykayla: My parents inspire me because every day, through the best and worst times in their lives, they have continued to keep their faith and have the biggest hearts I know.
VYPE: What is your all-time favorite meal?
Mykayla: My all-time favorite meal is my dad’s burgers with baked beans and macaroni and cheese.
VYPE: Are you involved in any other activities?
Mykayla: I am also involved in my church’s outreach ministry, youth group, and production team, as well as our High School’s FCA.
