LINDSAY LEOPARDS
Coach: SAM HEMBREE
6-5
OFFENSE
The Lindsay Leopards’ offense will lean heavily on a dynamic ground attack built around senior RB Dutton Taylor (5-11, 205), who rushed for over 1,000 yards last season. Taylor, a three-year two-way starter, is the heart of the offense with his physicality and versatility, boasting nearly 1,500 all-purpose yards and 85 tackles on defense. The offensive line, anchored by seniors Dennis Degering (6-4, 315), Caleb Snow (5-10, 270), and Maxon Simonton (5-10, 200), will provide the bulldozing front needed to open holes for the running game. Simonton, known for his dedication and near-perfect attendance, brings consistency and leadership to the trenches, missing time only for mission trips. The Leopards will operate primarily out of a spread formation, aiming to keep defenses off balance by mixing runs and quick passes. Junior QB Issac Cameron (6-0, 180) will manage the offense, while sophomore ATH Crew Flood (5-9, 165), who posted over 1,000 total offensive yards as a freshman, will continue to provide explosive playmaking ability. Flood’s speed and agility, combined with his track medalist pedigree, make him a constant threat in the open field. Expect the Leopards to pound the ball and control the clock as they look to build momentum throughout the season and into the playoffs.
DEFENSE
The Leopards will align in a 3-4 defense focused on stopping the run and preventing big plays downfield. The defense will rely on senior LB Dutton Taylor to anchor the middle with his tackling prowess and leadership. Sophomore Crew Flood, a two-way starter, will bring his speed and athleticism to the secondary and linebacker corps. In the back end, junior Safety Eli Curry (6-1, 155) will patrol the deep zones to keep opposing offenses from striking quickly. Up front, the defensive line boasts senior presence with DL Kegyn Gibson (6-0, 220), DE Gus Torres (6-3, 230), and DE Kaven Hunter (5-8, 200) combining size, strength, and quickness to disrupt opponents’ rushing attacks. The Leopards’ defensive philosophy is clear: “We are going to stop the run and not get beat deep.” With a mix of veteran leadership and emerging young talent, Lindsay’s defense will be a formidable force, aiming to complement their strong offensive attack. Assistant coaches on Hembree’s staff this season are Caleb Hall, Steven Merrell, Jackson Stephen, Tyler Sharp, Cody Weaver, and Braxdan Turner.
