OFFENSE

After a perfect regular season, the Bulldogs stumbled in the second round and were eliminated from the playoffs. This season, head coach Brock Wardlaw knows that his squad will need guys to fill in open spots left from graduation in order to make another run. “We graduated 14 players from last year’s team,” he said. “We will be a young team this season. We have a chance to be a good football team if our underclassmen can step up and solidify some key positions for us.” The Bulldogs will look to its strong group of running backs to lead the offense as it relies on the running game. Sebastian Valdez (6-0, 175, Jr.) is very athletic and is looking to have a breakout season. He has been a starter since his freshman year and is ready to make the next step. Any good running game has to have a solid offensive line to run behind and Minco is no different. They have an outstanding group of guys, led by Colten Mendez (5-9, 200, Sr.), that will block for Valdez and the other backs. When they need to go to something different, they will look to a pair of wide receivers to open things up. Landon McMahahon (5-9, 155, Jr.) and Carson Littlejohn (6-2, 185, Sr.) will be those go to guys.

DEFENSE

The Bulldog defense gave up an average of 12 points per game last season. After the losses to graduation, it may be tough to duplicate that type of production this season, but Minco has some outstanding athletes on the defensive side of the ball that will work to keep the opponents points low. Case Brassfield (5-10, 220, Jr.) is going to be a tough person to defend on the defensive line. He will work to wreak havoc on the opponents and disrupt their plans. At linebacker, Jace Bratcher (5-10, 170, Jr.) will have his head on a swivel, keeping an eye out for the run and for the pass. Patrolling the secondary will be defensive backs Dason McMurtrey (5-10, 160, Jr.) and Aden Brummell (5-10, 170, Jr.). Assistant coaches for the Bulldogs this season will be Brady Wardlaw and Tyler Roberts.
