Mistakes happen. The game must go on. This is a lesson kids learn playing sports. Jennie Cobb, a sophomore at Navajo High School is dedicated to volleyball. It taught her to keep trying and never give up.
Jennie proudly represents NHS showing opposing teams respect and a good attitude on the court. Her favorite part about being on a team is how teammates stick together even if they mess up. She looks forward to celebrations after scoring a point and taking dance breaks during practice.
“I am passionate about my sport because I truly love volleyball and I would never give it up for anything. I never thought I could play a sport for the rest of my life, but I could play volleyball for the rest of my life.
“My favorite accomplishment playing volleyball is definitely learning how to spike. It is very hard since I’m short. And also having the opportunity to be in this magazine!” she exclaims.
Many people have influenced Jennie. “My favorite teacher is probably my coach. She is the sweetest person ever. I am glad she is my coach! My best friend Alyssa helps me calm down when I mess up and she has the same amount of love for volleyball that I do. I am forever grateful for her,” said Jennie.
Her love for pasta and reconnecting with friends makes Italy the top choice for a vacation. “My friend who is a foreign exchange student lives there. I miss her and would love to see her again. I would probably take my sister Kennedi because I’m pretty sure she would love to go see Michela, but I don’t know if she can deal with me for that long,” laughs Jennie.
On a final note, Jennie sends out thanks to her family. “Thank you to my mom, dad, stepdad, stepmom, and all my eight siblings for always believing in me and always asking me how my games go. I am so grateful for that and I’m glad you are there by my side.”
