Hollis’ Jake Parker – Football Spotlight

Hollis High School’s Jake Parker, just a freshman, is already standing out, displaying pure talent and hustle every time he takes the field. Naming quarterback and safety as his go-to positions, he’s proving to be versatile on both sides of the ball. His talent goes further than gaining yards on the football field; he’s also invested in baseball and basketball. Jake is showing that true grit and hard work are what it takes to be at the top.

Family means everything to Jake, which leads to a defining moment in his football career. He has been anticipating the opportunity to take the field with his older brother for years. “My brother is a junior, I am a freshman, and I have looked forward to this moment my whole life,” he shares. With Hollis having both brothers on the field this year, there is one guarantee: they will be a force to be reckoned with.

For Jake, family goes beyond the field.  Sharing that his grandpa is one of his biggest influences, teaching him characteristics of encouragement and instilling practical expectations. “He talks about how important work ethic is, and it makes me want to give my all. He never misses an event.” He also shared that his dad, Shawn Parker, has always demonstrated what it takes to be a hard worker. Family plays a huge role in Jake’s life, and that is shaping the person he is today.

When it comes to a challenge, Parker won’t pass one up; in fact, it fuels him. One of his favorite matchups is Snyder, “They’re quick with the talk, but we’ll see if they can back it up,” he explains. His teammate, Lincoln Bronn, helps prepare him for challenges by encouraging him to go hard every day in practice and during games.

At the end of the day, Jake Parker knows that what matters the most is effort, focus, and having a good family. Representing them in his community means everything to him. After high school, he hopes to play at the collegiate level at any university that gives him the opportunity.  With his mindset, discipline, and commitment, Jake is destined to be a difference-maker for Hollis High.
