Jaxson Wade, a senior at Granite High School, is a gifted athlete who excels in basketball, baseball, and golf. From a young age, he discovered his passion for sports and has devoted himself to enhancing his game ever since. As he enters his final season as a Panther, Wade is determined to leave everything on the floor.
As a shooting guard, Wade dominates the court by playing a vital role in both scoring points and shutting down the opposing offense. His success comes from countless hours of grinding in the gym and a deep understanding that both victories and setbacks are valuable learning opportunities.
“Never give up, no matter how tired you are, or how down you feel, just keep pushing. Your body can take it,” Wade shares, reflecting his steady mindset and dedication to the game.
Wade’s dad and coaches have made a lasting impact on the senior. His father has always modeled perseverance, encouraging Wade to follow in his footsteps and to never give up, no matter the challenge. Coach Bomhoff continues to push him to excel both on and off the court, knowing the value in being a true student-athlete. Together, they symbolize mentors who recognize Wade’s potential and believe in his abilities.
Last year, Wade was honored with being named All-State Honorable Mention, one of the most unforgettable moments in his career so far. This season, he’s determined to go even further, aiming for All-State and leading his team to the state tournament. He knows there’s no secret to success: it takes preparation, hard work, and learning from every mistake.
When representing the Panthers, Wade does so with pride. He’s fueled by those who doubt him, using their skepticism as motivation to prove himself. Wade also values the respect and support his community shows for him and his team.
“It means a lot to me to carry myself even better off the court than on, because people are watching you all the time,” he says.
After high school, Wade plans to attend OSU Institute of Technology, where he will pursue a degree as a High Voltage Line Technician.
