Duke’s Michelle Milner – Parent Spotlight – Presented by Jackson County Memorial Hospital Women’s Health Associates

For Duke High School senior Grant Milner, success on the court, the course, and the field is about more than just personal achievement; it’s about the support of family, especially his mom, Michelle Milner.

Michelle is the proud mother of Grant, who is a standout senior at Duke High School. Grant is heavily involved in athletics, competing in basketball, golf, and baseball. Michelle says that one of her greatest joys is watching her son grow through sports, not just as an athlete, but as a person.

“I enjoy watching Grant be a great teammate and learn how to prioritize his time to meet all of his academic and athletic goals,” Michelle shared. “Sports have given him so many opportunities to grow, and it’s fun to see him balance it all.”

A strong supporter of the Duke community, Michelle is grateful to be part of such a close-knit school and town. “I love being part of the Duke community. They are so supportive, and my favorite thing is how welcoming we are to new students,” she said. Whether it’s cheering in the stands, volunteering when needed, or simply offering a kind word to a fellow parent, Michelle embodies the spirit that makes Duke so special.

Outside of athletics and school activities, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family and getting outdoors. Camping trips are a favorite way for her family to relax, recharge, and make memories together. And of course, no matter where she is, Michelle is always ready to cheer on the Duke Tigers.

Her passion for family, community, and school spirit is what makes Michelle an outstanding role model. She represents the heart of what it means to be a Tiger parent, supportive, encouraging, and always ready to lend a helping hand.
