Altus High School sophomore Zachiah Cleveland is a rising multi-sport athlete whose drive, determination, and focus are already setting her apart. A standout on the softball field and preparing to take on tennis and swimming, Zachiah brings versatility, talent, and a relentless work ethic to everything she does.
Primarily a pitcher, third baseman, and outfielder, Zachiah knows success doesn’t come easy. “It takes hard work, consistency, and a strong mindset,” she says. “You have to want it—on the tough days, when you’re tired, when others are relaxing—you have to show up.” That attitude was on full display when she led her team to a championship victory at the USSSA All-American Games in Viera, Florida, where she was named Most Outstanding Pitcher.
Motivated by her future goals, Zachiah is focused on becoming the best version of herself both in sports and in life. “That vision keeps me going,” she shares. Her biggest inspiration is Jordy Bahl—an athlete who rose from humble beginnings to national acclaim. “Her talent, work ethic, and drive inspire me to push myself every day,” Zachiah says.
Zachiah credits her academic improvement and personal growth to a former teacher, Mrs. Watson from Navajo High School. “She’s strict and straightforward, but incredibly smart. Her tough love made me better,” Zachiah reflects.
While new to Altus High School, Zachiah has already joined the Kay Club and looks forward to getting more involved. Balancing sports and schoolwork requires discipline and organization, but Zachiah embraces the challenge. “It’s all about mindset. If you stay focused, you can succeed in both.”
Whether she’s pushing herself in practice by going head-to-head with her team’s top player or proving doubters wrong on game day, Zachiah thrives on competition. “It motivates me to keep growing,” she says.
Representing her school and community means everything to her. “It’s about being a role model on and off the field and showing gratitude for the opportunity to compete.”
With a mindset rooted in hard work, a passion for growth, and an unwavering dedication to her goals, Zachiah Cleveland is a name to remember at Altus High School and beyond.
