For Jeanie Bittle, being a sports mom isn’t just about sitting in the stands; it’s about showing up, supporting, and celebrating every moment of her boys’ journeys. Jeanie is the proud mom of three sons, each forging his own path in life and athletics.

Her oldest, Jacob, lives in Choctaw with his wife, Dara, and works as a Communications Executive at the University of Oklahoma. Jared, her middle son, is a Business major at Oklahoma City University and plays baseball for the Stars. The youngest, Jett, is a junior at Altus High School and a standout basketball player for the Bulldogs.

When she’s not cheering from the bleachers, Jeanie serves as a Resource Advisor for the 97th Communications Squadron at Altus Air Force Base. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and, of course, supporting her boys in every way she can.

“I show up,” she said simply. “Whatever position they are in, whether they’re supporting their team from the bench, catching bullpen, or a starter, I am there to cheer for them and their team. I’ve traveled across the country to watch them do what they love. I hope they always know how important it is to just show up.”

That unwavering support doesn’t mean the road is always easy. “The toughest part about being the parent of a high school athlete is watching your child carry the pressure to succeed and meet expectations,” Jeanie shared. “Guiding them through the mental side of sports, helping them stay confident, resilient, and balanced, is both the hardest and most rewarding part of the journey.”

Jeanie also believes deeply in teaching balance and priorities. “Keeping your priorities in perspective is extremely important because it helps you stay focused and successful in all areas of life, not just sports.”

A tireless supporter of Altus athletics, Jeanie organized and actively leads the AHS Basketball Fan Club, hosting fundraisers, team meals, and morale-boosting events. She also manages an AAU 2027 basketball team, coordinating everything from scheduling to travel.

What she loves most about Altus High School is its sense of unity. “The students, parents, and coaches all come together to support every sport. It’s not just about winning games; it’s about teaching teamwork, discipline, and resilience. Watching how our school rallies around its student-athletes makes me proud to be part of this community.”
