For Hadley Wallace, every game, every practice, and every competition is an opportunity to push herself to the next level. Bursting with energy and determination, Hadley has quickly made her mark as a standout multi-sport athlete at Altus High School, competing in basketball, softball, and rodeo. Whether she’s sinking a clutch shot as a shooting guard, patrolling centerfield on the softball diamond, or roping cattle in rodeo events, Hadley brings intensity, skill, and heart to everything she does.
What keeps Hadley motivated is simple but powerful. “The drive to get better every time I step onto the court and compete at my highest level,” she said. That mindset has already led to standout achievements, including making the varsity basketball team as a freshman and helping the Lady Bulldogs reach the regional tournament.
Hadley credits her success to a combination of hard work and dedication. “It takes a lot of practice, showing up on time, being ready to give it your all, staying after practice, and working at home,” she explained. “You also have to be able to take criticism and use it to get better.”
Her biggest influences come from athletes she looked up to early on. “The seniors from my freshman year, Jenna and Macie, were great role models. They played multiple sports, kept their grades up, and went on to play in college,” she said. She also gives special credit to her former elementary basketball coach, Brandon Bush, who continues to be a mentor. “He’s not only a coach but a friend. He picks on me, but he gives great advice and helps me find the good in every game, no matter what.”
Hadley enjoys every opportunity to compete with and against her teammates. “I learn something different from each of them,” she said, naming Hayden and Kyerra as players who especially push her to improve her ball-handling and offensive game.
Outside of basketball, Hadley enjoys the variety that comes with softball and rodeo, where she competes in breakaway, tie down, and ribbon roping.
To her, representing Altus High School means more than just playing sports. “It’s about showing good sportsmanship, being respectful, and taking pride in my team and community,” she said—a mindset that makes Hadley Wallace a true Bulldog at heart.
