Altus enters the new season with a group that feels both seasoned and fresh, a roster full of players who have already tasted varsity action but are still hungry to define their identity. The Bulldogs will lean on a core that blends seniors, juniors, and promising underclassmen as they work to rebuild a strong, competitive culture from top to bottom. As their coach put it, they are “experienced, but inexperienced all at the same time,” and that balance could make Altus one of the more intriguing teams to watch this year.
Senior shortstop Kashton Lamb will be at the heart of everything Altus does. A four-year starter and true utility player, he can slide anywhere on the field if needed, giving the coaching staff flexibility in how they shape the lineup. He finished last season swinging a hot bat in the regional tournament, and the Bulldogs hope that momentum carries over as he sets the tone in the box and in the locker room.
His younger brother, Ketcher Lamb, gives Altus a powerful presence in the underclass ranks. A sophomore corner infielder who is expected to see significant time at first base, Ketcher saw the field as a freshman before a knee injury cut his season short. Now healthy, he brings toughness from also playing on the football line and is expected to be a steady force at the plate.
Cole Adams embodies the steady reliability every successful team needs. Over the past two seasons, he has done whatever the coaching staff has asked, earning his opportunities through consistency and team-first effort. As he steps into a larger role, his versatility and quiet competitiveness should make him a key piece of the Bulldogs’ plans.
The future is also bright with younger talent like Jack, who forced his way into the lineup last season by embracing multiple positions and attacking the offseason with a strong work ethic. Incoming freshman Luke McMahan arrives with plenty of baseball already under his belt and a confident smile that never crosses into arrogance. The staff believes Luke can grow into a dependable contributor for years to come, reflecting the overall vision for a program built on competition, development, and a refreshed team culture.
