For Katy Parker, life revolves around family, farming, and Friday nights under the lights. The Hollis Middle School teacher wears many hats: educator, mom, fan, and sometimes even coach from the stands, but her favorite role is cheering for her two sons, Matt and Jake, who are both standout athletes for the Hollis Tigers.
Matt, a junior, and Jake, a freshman, are multi-sport athletes who compete in football, basketball, baseball, and track. This school year is extra special for the Parkers, as it’s the first time the two brothers have shared the field and court on the same teams. It’s a moment they’ve dreamed about for years, and their mom is savoring every minute of it.
“They’ve looked forward to the opportunity to play together, and they are loving it,” Katy said. “Seeing them compete side by side and push each other to be better, that’s what makes all the early mornings and late nights worth it.”
When she’s not teaching middle school students, Katy helps on the family farm, where hard work and teamwork are part of everyday life. Those same values carry over to sports, where her boys have learned the meaning of dedication, resilience, and brotherhood.
Athletics are truly a family affair in the Parker household. Whether it’s a football game on Friday, a basketball tournament on Saturday, or a track meet in the spring, Katy and her family are there, not just to cheer for Matt and Jake, but for every athlete wearing orange and black.
“We love to support all Hollis Tiger athletes,” she said. “It’s about more than wins and losses, it’s about community, pride, and growing together.”
For the Parkers, every season brings new challenges and memories. But no matter the scoreboard, one thing remains constant: a family bound by faith, hard work, and the love of the game, representing Hollis with heart and hometown pride.
