VYPE: What grade are you in this year and how long have you played volleyball?
Olivia: I’m in 10th grade and this is my 4th year playing volleyball.
VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to?
Olivia: The athlete I look up to is Serena Williams. Her love for the game is unmatched. Her desire to be one of the greatest that ever played is why I look up to her.
VYPE: Who is the best setter on the team?
Olivia: I believe I’m the best setter on the team because I took the time to really get to know my hitters and their preferences on ball placement. Chemistry between the setter and the hitters are crucial. I hope all my hitters always feel comfortable telling me exactly where they want me to set.
VYPE: How do you define leadership? What do you do to example leadership with your team?
Olivia: I believe leadership can be accomplished by anyone and more than one person at a time. Keeping everyone involved and not letting the team get down when things aren’t going our way is how I try to contribute to leadership on my team.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Olivia: My favorite teacher was Mrs. Story from 6th grade. I just loved her and had the best time in that class.
VYPE: What is your favorite pre-game and post game meal?
Olivia: My favorite pre game meal is a subway sandwich with turkey cheese and mayo, and my post game dinner after a good win is definitely a honey bbq chicken strip sandwich from Whataburger.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Olivia: The teammate who has made the biggest impression on me is Keeley because me and her are just a great duo on the court, and we connect and she always pushes me to be the best.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Olivia: I would wanna take all 5 of my friends Jaylee, Makenzie, Clare, Evyn, and Jordyn to Hawaii.
VYPE:What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?
Olivia: I just love representing bulldogs with all my pride and trying to maintain a positive attitude while hoping to inspire younger athletes to do the same.
