After finishing 5-12, the program is set to field a very young roster filled with underclassmen who have a chance to step into larger roles and grow quickly. Head coach Cade McKee, in his second year at the school, sees potential in that group and believes that steady improvement over the course of the season can make Snyder competitive every night.

At the heart of Snyder’s plans is junior shortstop Cheresh Tubbs, who brings both accolades and tools to the lineup. Already a Shortgrass All-Conference selection at shortstop as a sophomore, she provides a stabilizing presence in the infield. Her defense stands out as the most impressive part of her game, with the ability to make any play and turn difficult situations into outs. That reliability gives Snyder confidence up the middle and helps younger pitchers and fielders settle into their roles.
Cheresh’s speed is another weapon, particularly on the basepaths, where she can pressure defenses, take extra bases and create scoring opportunities. As her bat continues to develop, she has the potential to become one of the standout players in southwest Oklahoma, impacting games in all phases. For a young Cyclones team, having a player of her caliber to anchor the defense and lead by example is invaluable.
