2026 Blair Volleyball Preview

Blair Broncs volleyball enters the upcoming season with a renewed sense of purpose after a 4-16 record that served as a turning point for the program. Head coach Tina Clayton believes last year opened players’ eyes to what they are capable of becoming when they fully embrace the commitment needed to compete at a higher level. That experience has fueled an offseason marked by motivation and determination, with the roster buying into the work required to elevate Blair’s standing and continue building the program the right way.

The Broncs will lean on several key athletes who embody that standard. One of the central figures is Katie Clayton, whose impact as the team’s MVP stretched across every part of the season. From early practices to tournament play, she provided consistent effort, leadership and competitiveness, setting the tone and helping drive team growth. Her selection to an All-Tournament Team highlighted the level at which she performed and the respect she earned from coaches beyond Blair.

In the front row, Lexie Leach showed noticeable growth as the year went on, becoming more confident and aggressive at the net. Her tips and swings grew stronger and more controlled, and she began to influence momentum in matches with her play. That progression has the coaching staff excited about her potential to become a major contributor as she continues to develop.

Another emerging name is upcoming freshman Abby Leach, a versatile athlete who has already demonstrated a strong understanding of the game. She can help at setter, serve consistently and attack effectively when given opportunities, making her an all-around option who can impact multiple phases of play. Sydney Donner, an upcoming sophomore, brings invaluable intangibles to the roster. Her attitude, work ethic and team-first approach create a positive environment and provide a model of how a student-athlete should carry herself on and off the court.

With players who are coachable, driven and invested in the program’s future, Blair volleyball is poised to chase improvement in its record and rankings. The Broncs are focused on sustaining their offseason effort into every practice and match, knowing that steady progress will help shape a stronger identity and a more competitive team in the seasons to come.
