SNYDER CYCLONES
Coach: KEVIN KOPP
3-8
OFFENSE
The Snyder Cyclones enter the 2025 season facing the challenge of replacing several key seniors who recently graduated. While those players left big shoes to fill, Coach Kopp is confident in a hungry group of athletes eager to seize their opportunity. The team returns several starters, and many others gained valuable experience last season, positioning them well to step up as full-time contributors. The offense will rely heavily on dynamic playmakers like quarterback Ricky Williams (6-0, 180, Sr.) and running back Tommy Torres (5-10, 155, Sr.). Both bring speed and leadership, with Tommy expected to carry a larger load after sharing time at running back last year. The offensive line returns key pieces such as Makhale Adams (6-0, 205, Jr.), Jaxon Smith, and Grant Breeze. Though experienced, they’ll need to maintain peak conditioning to support a young, energetic group behind them. Snyder faces a tough schedule with battles against Tipton, Seiling, Hollis, Empire, and Caddo, making a strong summer program essential for development.
DEFENSE
On defense, the Cyclones return a solid core, though some players will take on new roles. Junior linebacker and defensive end Makhale Adams anchors the defensive line, bringing toughness and experience. Linebacker Kaulum Vester (5-8, 205, Jr.) steps into a bigger role, replacing the departed Konner Carothers. Vester showed flashes of brilliance last year and is known for his nose for the ball. The other linebacker spot could be filled by either Isaiah Adams (6-3, 205, Sr.) or Jaxon Smith, with Isaiah’s ability to read plays making him a key factor. The secondary boasts speed and versatility with players like Tommy Torres, Drevon Myers, Ricky Williams, and Shawn Young. This group will be crucial in limiting big plays and creating turnovers. Coach Kopp is optimistic about the program’s future, citing strong buy-in from players across all grades and a competitive spirit that extends even to the youngest Cyclones. A focused, disciplined summer program will be vital to turning around the team’s fortunes in 2025.
