2025 Navajo Girls Basketball Preview – Presented by Shamrock Bank

The Navajo Lady Indians enter this season with confidence and excitement as they look to build on last year’s 19-win campaign. Under the steady leadership of Head Coach Tim Ellison, now in his sixth year at the helm, the Lady Indians bring back a strong mix of veteran leadership, junior talent, and sophomores who gained valuable varsity experience a season ago.

“I’m excited about this year with a senior point guard in Avery Harrison, and a couple of juniors in Ansley Warren and McKenzie Moreau,” Ellison said. “We also have a group of sophomores who got plenty of playing time last year and gained valuable experience. We are looking forward to a great season!”

At the heart of the Lady Indians’ attack will be senior point guard Avery Harrison (5-4, Sr.), who brings poise, leadership, and consistency to the floor. Her ability to control the tempo and keep teammates involved makes her the steady hand Navajo will rely on in close games.

Guard Ansley Warren (5-6, Jr.) is expected to be a major contributor again this season. Known for her basketball IQ and smooth shooting touch, Warren is a fierce competitor who loves the game and thrives in big moments. Ellison expects her to help lead the team deep into the postseason.

In the paint, McKenzie Moreau (6-0, Jr.) gives Navajo a solid inside presence on both ends of the floor. Her size and rebounding will be key as the Lady Indians look to control the boards and create second-chance opportunities. Mackenzie Buss (5-6, So.) adds depth in the post with her physical play and growing confidence, while guard Sadie McDowell (5-6, So.) brings energy and versatility to the backcourt.

With a balanced mix of experience, skill, and youthful enthusiasm, the Lady Indians have all the ingredients to make another strong playoff push. If their young core continues to develop and the veterans set the tone, Coach Ellison’s group could be one of the most exciting and competitive teams in the area this season.
