FREDERICK BOMBERS

Coach: BRET TYLER

2-8

OFFENSE
With a solid core of returning starters, the Frederick Bombers enter the 2025 season focused on turning the tide and making a big leap forward. After a challenging 2-8 campaign last year, Head Coach Bret Tyler is confident that experience and offseason development will pay off on Friday nights. The offense will once again be led by senior quarterback Dalton Wells (6-2, 210, Sr.), who threw for 1,615 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. A dynamic dual-threat athlete, Wells brings poise, toughness, and playmaking ability to the field. He’ll be targeting senior wide receiver Zane Tyler (5-10, 170, Sr.), a three-year starter who hauled in 32 catches for 703 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2024. Tyler has already surpassed 1,000 career receiving yards and is equally dangerous on the defensive side. Also returning to the offense is Grady Hilburn (6-0, 170, Sr.), who missed last season due to injury but is expected to be a key contributor at wide receiver this fall. Up front, the offensive line is anchored by Benji Cavillio (6-2, 230, So.), who started on both sides of the ball as a freshman and is poised for a breakout sophomore season. Senior linemen Christian Harper (5-10, 195, Jr.) at center and Leilynd Kelley (5-11, 185, Jr.) at tackle provide experience and toughness in the trenches.

DEFENSE
The Bomber defense will look to build around its returning leaders and gain an edge with improved physicality and discipline. Once again, Wells pulls double duty, leading the team in tackles last year with an impressive 116 stops from his linebacker position. His relentless motor and football IQ make him one of the most valuable two-way players in the district. Tyler anchors the secondary, where he tallied 88 tackles and led the team with 5 interceptions. Hilburn and Quaid Robbins (5-9, 160, So.) add depth to the defensive backfield, while Braylin Hunt (5-9, 165, Jr.) returns from injury to bolster the linebacker unit. On the line, Christian Harper (5-10, 195, Jr.) brings toughness with 37 tackles last season. With returning talent, added depth, and a chip on their shoulders, the Bombers are determined to bounce back and re-establish themselves as a team to watch in 2025.
