As the 2025 season begins, the Altus Lady Bulldogs fastpitch softball program is entering an exciting new chapter. Head Coach Jessica Robinson, now in her sixth year leading the team, will guide one of her youngest rosters yet — a group rich with raw talent, athleticism, and potential.
“This year’s team will be made up mostly of freshmen and sophomores,” Robinson said. “It’s a youth movement, but I’m excited about what we’re building. The future looks bright.”
At the heart of this year’s squad is returning sophomore standout Kyerra Osborn, who earned All-District honors at shortstop as a freshman. A three-sport athlete, Osborn hit .353 last season and led the team with 40 runs scored. Known for her athleticism and leadership, she sets the tone both at the plate and in the field. Her ability to play anywhere on the diamond makes her a cornerstone of the program moving forward.
Another key piece for the Lady Bulldogs is sophomore newcomer Zaciah Cleveland, who will take on a major role in the circle and provide power at the plate. With a strong presence and competitive edge, Cleveland is expected to make an immediate impact in both phases of the game.
Joining the varsity mix is a talented group of freshmen ready to make their mark early. Players like Makenna Hayes, Gibbs, Spears, Wilson, Smith, Fixico, and Linaeres bring athleticism and energy to the program. Hayes, in particular, is a name to watch — a speedy and versatile player who can contribute anywhere on the field and spark the offense with her speed on the basepaths.
While the 2025 season may come with growing pains, the Lady Bulldogs aren’t shying away from competition. With young talent, strong leadership, and a vision for long-term success, Altus is looking to surprise opponents this fall and set the foundation for a strong future.
“We want to compete every inning and grow as a team,” said Robinson. “This group has what it takes — now it’s about coming together and learning how to win.”
