NAVAJO INDIANS
GIRLS
Coach: Tim Ellison
23-24 Record: 22-7
The 2023-2024 campaign did not end the way the Lady Indians had hoped, instead making an early playoff exit. But with a new season comes new hope and head coach Tim Ellison is excited to get the season underway and see what his team can accomplish. “We should have a great season,” Ellison said. “We only lost one senior from last year’s squad. We are a very athletic team and should dominate on both ends of the court.” A key returner for Navajo is Ansley Warren, who will be an important part to the success that the Lady Indians have this season. “She is a standout basketball player and has consistently
demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and sportsmanship both on and off the court,” coach Ellison said. “Averaging 12 points, five rebounds and three steals per game as a freshman, and leading the team in these categories, she has not only led our team to multiple victories but has also shown remarkable leadership qualities. Her commitment to training and improving her craft is evident in her work ethic, often being the first to arrive for practice and the last to leave. Beyond her athletic prowess, Ansley excels academically and actively participates in community service, embodying the true spirit of a student-athlete.” Two other seniors, Sabrina Gilbert (Sr.) and Karissa Callins (Sr.) will look to make an impact on the court and help their team be successful. Other player to watch out for this season are Avery Harrison (Jr.), Foster Dunn (So.), McKenzie Moreau (So.), Carly Cordes (So.), Ali Smith (So.), Sadie McDowell (Fr.), Alexa Hoffman (Fr.), Madi Weber (Fr.), McKenzie Buss (Fr.), Kimber Osborne (Fr.), Taylor Langley (Fr.), Peyton Russell (Fr.), and Landry Rempel (Fr.).
