HOLLIS TIGERS
BOYS
Coach: Tyler Bates
23-24 Record: 12-11
After an early playoff exit a year ago, the Tigers enter this season ready to make a deeper run. Head coach Tyler Bates feels that his team is ready to have a really good season. “Expectations are high for this group,” Bates said. “This team has really matured and developed over the off-season with our year round weight program and it’s already paying dividends in football and cross country this fall. The bench will also be solid with several key contributors and a great incoming freshman class. The future is very bright as the Tigers will have only two seniors on the roster this year.” One of those guys that will have an impact on the season is Matt Parker (6-2, So.). He is a long athletic point guard who has good size and great length. He has high level ball handling and passing skills and is a great finisher with either hand around the rim. Matt worked hard on his perimeter shooting in the off-season and the ability to shoot it
from deep will make him a tough player to guard. Ryan Deleon (5-7, Jr.) was the team’s leading scorer as a sophomore and he is an outstanding shooter on the perimeter. Kreid McQueen (6-2 Jr.) averaged 8.9 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game last season and will have an expanded role with his improved perimeter shooting over the off-season. Someone that is always ready to do whatever it takes to help his team win is Lincoln Bronn (5-10, Jr.) He is asked to guard the other team’s best player, he can play any position on offense, and he makes a ton of plays that are not seen on a stat sheet. He is the ultimate competitor and leader, and he is the guy who holds the team together. Other players that will look to make contributions to the team’s success this season are Maddux Skorepa (5-11, Fr.), Wyatt Warren (6-2, Jr.), Isaac Luna (5-9, So.), Braxton Lively (6-3, Jr.), Parker Sykora (6-2, Sr.), Parker Denton (5-11, So.), Graydon Whorton (6-1, So.), Ace Martinez (6-0, Fr.), Judah Motley (5-10, Sr.), Jimmy Pantoja (6-2, So.), Duncan Shotts (5-9, Fr.), Sean Snelling (6-0, Fr.), Jayvi Vasquez (5-11, Jr.), and Brody Whisenant (5-10, So.).
