LAWTON WOLVERINES

Coach: LORENZO WILLIAMS

4-6

Lawton enters the 2026 season believing it is close to a breakthrough, returning 20 starters from last year’s 4-6 team along with key additions. In his second season, head coach Lorenzo Williams has established a clear identity built on speed, physicality and accountability. With experience across the roster, players now understand expectations on both sides of the ball. A challenging schedule that includes a Jenks scrimmage, a trip to University City in St. Louis, Missouri, and key city rivalries will test that growth early. With a strong returning core, the Wolverines expect to contend for a playoff spot.

Offensively, Lawton brings back nine starters and will continue to play fast, spreading the field and getting playmakers into space. Senior Joseph Simpson (6-0, 200) is a versatile weapon capable of lining up in multiple spots and stressing defenses. The offensive line is anchored by three-year starting left tackle Ashton Lovell (6-4, 260) along with junior Kamarion Larkin (6-5, 300), giving the Wolverines size and experience in the trenches. Sophomore Quovon Coston (5-11, 180) is back after a strong freshman year; his 11.1 speed in the 100 meters makes him a dangerous weapon. Sophomores Godfrey Wilson (5-11, 165) and Chase Beadle (5-10, 160) add depth and explosiveness at receiver.

Defensively, Lawton returns all 11 starters and operates from a 4-2-5 scheme designed to stop the run and pressure the quarterback. Senior linebackers Ja’Vontez Hunter (6-0, 180) and Raheem Ellzey (6-0, 180) bring physicality and range, while seniors Tyler Cochran (5-10, 250) and Evan Rutledge (5-10, 250) anchor the defensive line. In the secondary, seniors DJ Campbell (5-10, 170) and D’Andre Williamson (5-10, 180) lead an experienced group that also features Coston and Wilson in hybrid roles, allowing for aggressive coverage and pressure schemes.

Coston’s emergence, Lovell’s leadership and Simpson’s versatility highlight a roster built on experience and speed. With depth on both sides of the ball, Lawton looks poised to climb above .500 and become a serious playoff contender in 2026.
