Senior athlete Kameran Delaune has made his mark at Olustee Eldorado Public Schools, balancing life on the track, the basketball court, and in the classroom. As a 12th grader with big goals and a strong support system, Kameran has learned how to give his all to everything he tries.
Kameran competes in track and basketball, two sports that require focus, discipline, and teamwork. They’ve taught him lessons that go far beyond the scoreboard.
“My sport has taught me to give everything a chance,” he said, reflecting on how athletics have shaped his perspective.
One of Kameran’s proudest achievements isn’t about points or medals, it’s about preparation for the future. Being accepted into college stands out as his favorite accomplishment, representing years of perseverance and commitment.
“The best advice someone has given me would be to keep trying,” Kameran shared. That determination shows up in everything he does, whether in class, competitions, or everyday life.
Kameran finds his biggest inspiration close to home. His parents and grandparents motivate him to stay strong and positive no matter the circumstances.
“My teammate Anthony has left the biggest impression on me. He’s the funniest and the best defender on the team,” Kameran said with a grin. For him, representing his school is all about unity and pride.
“My favorite part about representing my school is the team itself,” he added proudly.
Beyond sports, Kameran shines academically too, participating in the Gifted and Talented program and the Academic Team. He looks up to Michael Jordan, calling him “the greatest basketball player ever.”
When he’s not training or studying, Kameran enjoys baked chicken tacos and banana pudding, his all-time favorite meal and dessert duo. At the top of his bucket list? Taking a road trip across the country to drive around and visit different states.
With his optimism, determination, and school spirit, Kameran Delaune is a standout example of dedication both on and off the court.
