The hum of school gyms, the smell of fresh-cut grass, and the roar of cheering crowds, those sounds and scents have become the rhythm of life for one proud sports mom from Duke, Oklahoma. Between early morning practices and late-night games, she wouldn’t trade a single moment of the chaos that comes with raising three athletes.
Jace, a high school junior, shines on the basketball court and finds quiet focus on the golf course. Kendall, her energetic 7th grader, splits her time among softball, cross country, basketball, cheerleading, and track. And then there’s Emma, whose love for basketball and softball reflects the same drive she sees in her older siblings.
By profession, she’s a registered nurse working in Information Technology as a clinical analyst. But the moment the clock hits game time, she transforms into the family’s loudest cheerleader and biggest supporter. A career change gave her the flexibility to attend more games, something she’ll never regret. Photography and reading fill her rare moments of downtime, but her real passion lies in capturing the joy and grit of her kids and their teammates through her camera lens.
The hardest part of being a mom to high school athletes, she admits, is watching them grow up. The wins are sweet, but seeing them overcome challenges is what truly moves her. “When they start putting in the work because they want to,” she says, “that’s when you know they’ve found their purpose.”
Though not officially part of the booster club, she’s always ready to help, decorating for homecoming, cheering from the stands, or sharing photos for proud parents. A Duke graduate herself, she treasures the small-town sense of community that treats every child as their own.
For this mom, life isn’t just about the games; it’s about raising good humans, capturing memories, and celebrating every single play along the way.
