LAWTON EISENHOWER EAGLES
Coach: Eric Shows
OUTLOOK
The Lawton Eisenhower baseball team enters the season leaning on experience, depth, and a mature offensive approach as the Eagles prepare to compete at the Class 6A level under head coach Eric Shows.
“We are led by a core group of seniors who have all played a lot of varsity ball,” Shows said. “While we lack overpowering arms, we should have a deep pitching staff with players, all bringing unique attributes to the mound. We’re counting on the mix of uniqueness to help make up for the lack of overpowering stuff.”
That depth on the mound is expected to be a key strength for Eisenhower, allowing the Eagles to mix styles and keep opposing hitters off balance throughout district play. Offensively, Shows believes his lineup is better prepared after multiple seasons against elite competition.
“Offensively, this is our third year facing high level 6A pitching, so our players should be more comfortable,” he said. “We are focusing on a team approach to run production that excels in situational hitting.”
At the center of Eisenhower’s lineup and leadership is Colten Anderson, a proven presence behind the plate. Anderson returns as a three-year varsity starter and will anchor the Eagles defensively while guiding the pitching staff.
“Colten will anchor our team from behind the plate this season,” Shows said. “He’s a three-year varsity starter who has improved every year. Colten had a great summer and has continued to work this fall and winter, and we expect him have a great season.”
Another senior expected to make a major impact is Santana Gordon (Sr.), whose athleticism and versatility give Eisenhower options across the field.
“Santana Gordon is elite speed and in improving hitter,” Shows said. “Primary outfielder but will move in and play some infield as well. Off the charts athleticism.”
On the mound and in the middle of the order, Cayden Vickers (Sr.) is poised to be a difference-maker after joining the program late last season.
“Cayden Vickers played only JV last year after a late transfer,” Shows said. “Will likely be our lead district arm. Has a good 4 pitch mix. Will also play infield and be a middle of the order bat we’re depending on for run production.”
With senior leadership, pitching depth, and a situational hitting mindset, Eisenhower enters the season focused on execution and consistency — trusting experience and preparation to guide the Eagles through a challenging 6A schedule.
