Students learn from many teachers throughout their educational journey. Each of these educators can be impactful on each student’s future. Kaleb Fischer was a student at Weatherford High School and is now a teacher at Weatherford High School had a few teachers who helped him decide to become a teacher.
“I had a lot of impactful teachers when I went through school at Weatherford,” he said. “Mrs. Duerksen, Mrs. Morlan, Mrs. Jackson, Mrs. Leonard, Mrs. Lindamood, and Mrs. Henderson. These few and many more helped me become the teacher I am today. They taught me how to be fair but also make school enjoyable.”
Fischer teaches Algebra I and Geometry to freshmen and sophomores at Weatherford. This is his third year teaching at the high school. Before that, he taught at Weatherford Middle School.
Teaching students is a rewarding experience for Kaleb, who says he is proud to watch them learn and become better people.
“I decided to become an educator because I enjoy helping others learn,” he said. “I also like being a coach. I enjoy getting to know the kids and seeing them grow and gain confidence in my class.”
There have been many pieces of advice that others have given to Fischer throughout his teaching career. But he has one that stands out above the rest.
“I think the best advice I’ve got is to love what you do and who you teach,” he recalled.
When he is not in the classroom, Fischer has other ways he enjoys spending his time.
“I enjoy going to my students’ activities and games, spending time with family, and running,” he stated.
Kaleb and his wife, Natalie, are expecting their first child, a daughter in just a few days.
